University of Pavia

The University of Pavia, founded in 1361 in Pavia, Italy and it is one of the oldest universities in Europe with 9 faculties. The University of Pavia is a large research university, organized in 18 departments, offering multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teaching. The University of Pavia is one of Italy’s best schools, especially in medical education. The Faculty of Medicine has the most advanced research hospital in Italy. University of Pavia’s medical school offers the opportunity to study medicine in English for both Italian and foreign students. This university is not required to know Italian to foreign students, or they don’t deal with long procedures such as interview, reference letter. The establishment of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Pavia, which has proven itself not only in Italy but also in Europe, is 825 BC. It is considered as the second foundation date in 2009 with a kind of restoration and renovation. The University of Pavia serves as a kind of dynamo in the medical and health sciences. The university has a system called  ‘’Pavia System” which is recognized in the world literature. The Faculty of Medicine, which educates its students with this philosophy, is also the first university in Italy to offer English Medical Education.

Famous Alumni of University Of Pavia

Many scientists from the University of Pavia have been trained by the world. For example, Girolamo Cardano (1501-1576), Alessandro Volta (1745-1827), Camillo Golgi (1843-1926), Antonio Scarpa (1752-1832) and many others. Each of them has a lot of work that has directed the world apart, Scarpa is a medical doctor and a professor of anatomy. He recalled Golgiars biology (he won the Nobel Prize in 1906), and Volta recalled especially in the physics courses in terms of electricity and battery.
